More about my background
I was born and raised in Japan and for the past 11 years I’ve been living in Norway.
It all started when I was 15 years old and flew alone to Paris to visit a cousin. For me, this was not only my first trip abroad but also my first glimpse of the world outside my native Japan. The experience was so eye-opening that it sparked a passion for learning about new cultures and traveling. As a result, I decided to attend an international university in Oita, Japan, where I met people from all over the world and broadened my horizons.
But that was only the beginning. During my third year of university, I embarked on an exchange program to Norway, where I studied Norwegian for a year. Little did I know that this experience would change the course of my life. I fell in love with Norway’s stunning landscapes and quality of life and decided to stay after finishing my social science studies at the university in Japan. While building a life in Norway was challenging, it gave me a chance to create a stable work-life balance, which is something I cherish to this day.
For the past years, I’ve been working in the travel industry and gained a great experience as a travel adviser. While working 9-5, my holidays have taken me to all parts of the world. I’ve stayed with local families, explored small villages, and gone on thrilling adventures. One of the most transformative experiences I had was on a solo trip to Tanzania and Kenya in 2017, where I learned so much about the world and myself. The more I travel, the more I realize that there is beauty in every country and culture, and I feel incredibly fortunate to have the opportunity to keep exploring.
